Moving Along...
Today i came to the barbershop at 10 am. I was eager to learn new techniques in barbering and I started working with the razor, learning how to shave side-brows. I practiced on Matt Riccio who is the owner's son. I was surprised how quickly I excelled and managed to master this technique. The results were great and Matt was happy with the way his freshly shaved side-brows looked like. After I finished working with the razor I started observing the techniques involving scissors. I managed to pick up a few techniques and I wrote them down in my notes. In the meantime I helped out around the barbershop cleaning the hair on the floor and sometimes even serving drinks to various customers. Surprisingly today was not a very busy day and there were not many customers in the barbershop. I finished working at around 2 pm and I am looking forward to tomorrow since I will be learning new things from the instructors.

James - Sounds like the techniques are coming along pretty well. Keep updating us on the classroom work as well as the practical work that you've been doing as that is part of the project as well.
Also, have you had a chance to spark any conversation regarding how to run a small business, marketing plans, etc.? I think those would be highly valuable to your learning process and future endeavors, regardless of they are related to barbering or not. I'll give you a call tomorrow to check in. Hope all is well.
